An Introduction to Wine
Course Format:
Live, in-class PowerPoint instruction featuring guided tastings, study materials, quizzes, and a final exam. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Achievement.

3-week program (9 modules total)
Approximately 9 hours of instruction
1-hour final exam
Accelerated Saturday option available (complete the course in one day)

History, geography, grape varieties, and winemaking techniques of the world’s major wine regions, including:
California & the Pacific Northwest
France
Italy

Australia & New Zealand
Germany & Spain
Sensory evaluation of wine (how to taste like a pro)
Food & wine pairing principles
Production of sparkling wines
Production of Port and other dessert wines
