Qualification Aims
WSET’s Level 3 Award in Wines is a beginner- to intermediate-level qualification exploring wines, suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.  Building upon the foundation of the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, this challenging and rewarding program explores the natural and human factors that influence a wine’s style, quality, and price. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principal still, sparkling, and fortified wines of the world while developing advanced analytical tasting skills using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT).

Throughout the course, you’ll examine:

• Viticulture and the factors affecting grape growing
• Winemaking techniques and their impact on wine style
• The world’s major wine-producing regions
• Sparkling and fortified wine production
• Wine law, labeling, and commercial factors
• Professional wine tasting and quality assessment
• How to confidently explain why wines taste the way they do and what determines their quality and value
